Flight to New Mexico

We flew to Albuquerque on August 16th.  This trip was the trip that almost didn't happen.  We had planned to go this summer but Kinsey only has 6 weeks off for summer vacation and between moving (twice) and Jason spending a week there after his grandmother died, we ran out of time.  We decided to go in August when things had slowed down and take Kinsey out of school for 7 days.  It was a great decision.

We entertained the girls with the usual stickers, crayons, electronic devices and my newest idea, Play Doh!  It worked great.  Our first flight was into Houston and when we were about 40 minutes out, the pilot let us know that the airport was shut down due to a storm so we circled around the ocean for awhile.  Not a bad view, but it made a 3 hour flight a 4 hour flight and the girls were READY to get off by the time we got in.

We got in at bedtime in NC and grabbed some dinner.  The girls loved watching the airplanes outside.  Our flight into Albuquerque was delayed and by the time we left Houston,
it was about 10 pm our time.

Kaitlyn takes her flight safety very seriously.  Both girls fell sleep on the plane.
Kinsey woke up when we landed.

Kaitlyn stayed asleep through departing the plane, getting our luggage, riding on a shuttle bus, waiting for the rental car, getting to Jen's house, and getting put in her new bed for the night.  When she woke up in the morning the first thing she said was, "We left my shoes on the airplane!"

LONG, long day.  But we made it!
