We spent a lot of time at library programs this summer. The girls really enjoyed them and they were a great, free way to spend some time indoors on hot days.
We went to a "magic" show. Really it was this middle aged man that was pretty cheesy, but the girls loved it. He made a rabbit appear and Kinsey is convinced that he really was a magician.
We also went a reptile program. The girls got to pet an alligator and a few other creepy things. The guy teaching the program told us that he raises copperheads and then uses their venom to treat cancer with a nearly 100% success rate. Someone asked him why it wasn't common practice in cancer treatment and he said that drug companies are trying to hush it up because they make so much money on chemo and radiation. Interesting. I googled it when I got home and found that there is actually quite a bit of research about it. Huh.
