January
Spent most of this month lying on the couch with morning sickness (aka--all day sickness). Had huge (for NC) snowstorm on Inauguration Day. 3 inches of snow successfully shut down the state.
February
Moved Kinsey to a toddler bed. Woke up that same night to find she has thrown up all over it. That's about all that happened this month.
March
Took a trip to DC to visit our nation's capitol and my brother Troy. It was tons of fun but next time I'll try and go when I'm not pregnant. Found out we were having another girl. Also found out something wasn't quite right with the baby.
April
Potty trained the girl. Spent most of the day without pants (only Kinsey). Celebrated a wonderful Easter. I come to love Easter more and more each year.
May
Jason graduated! Spent some time at the beach with our parents.
June
Moved while pregnant. Not recommended. Cut Kinsey's hair.
July
Went to about 9 billion ultrasound appointments. Watched some fireworks. Kaitlyn arrived safely in the world on July 23-nothing short of miracle. Fell in love with the nurses and doctor's who kept her alive.
August
Finally brought Kaitlyn home. Focused most of my energy on feeding her. LOVED having two little girls to play with.
September
Kinsey turned 3! Kaitlyn had her first blood transfusion.
October
This month is a blur. Calmed colliky baby. Tried to manage two children. Learned that Kaitlyn had the lost the hearing in her right ear. Dressed the girls up as a bear (Kaitlyn) and a fairy (Kinsey) for Halloween.
November
Took our first family photo. Kaitlyn started to look and act more like a healthy baby. Enjoyed Thanksgiving with friends and family. Remembered how thankful we are for our friends and family.
December
Kaitlyn has a second blood transfusion. Watching her the few weeks following was like watching a miracle. She must have gotten some really good blood. Thank you to whoever donated it! Said prayers of thanksgiving for the birth of Christ. Had a magical Christmas.
I can't wait for 2010! Seriously, it can only get better.

What a year you've had! Seriously, you've had so real ups and downs in 2009... it looks like you're going out on a high note though! Happy New Year and Welcome 2010!
Kim, I'm so thrilled that you found my blog! I have sometimes thought of going private, but then I'll connect with someone who has a story like yours or like mine, and I think how sorry I would be to have missed that. And really, when something isn't quite right or not the way we pictured it would be with our children, don't all of our stories become somewhat alike, no matter what the circumstances are? I am so grateful to have this place where we can support each other. I have so enjoyed looking at all the pictures of and reading about your precious girls. I'm so happy that things seem to be looking up for Kaitlyn. I know how difficult it is to endure the days when you wonder if anything will ever be fine! We're having some good days around here lately, too.
So happy to "meet" you!
