Kinsey Binsey

Kinsey doesn't often get into things she is not supposed to. She never has. I think part of it comes because she didn't really move around until she was almost 1. She was happy to just sit. By the time she started really moving, she was old enough to understand "No." I've also never really locked anything up, other than medicine, chemicals, ect., and she has pretty much learned what she can and cannot touch. The other day however, she surprised me.

Kinsey stopped napping when she was 2 1/2. She now has "rest time" in her room where she is allowed to play with toys, look at books, listen to music, ect. She generally does pretty well with this. She has two closets in her room, one is full of her stuff, the other we use for storage. I keep all my craft supplies in the second closet. She generally leaves that whole closet alone.

The other day I got her out of rest time and she was soooo excited to show me what she had made.

She cracks me up--she got into my craft supplies (which she knows she is not supposed to do) and made cards! She made four; one for me, one for Jason, one for her, and one for Kaitlyn (but I'm totally using them for Valentine's Day). Of all the things to do. I can just picture her in her room happily making cards, so proud of herself. I'm soooo glad that she didn't get into the paint!

She might drive me crazy sometimes (three is a tough age!) but I sure love her!

Kinsey noticed some guys moving furniture outside of our apartment. Some had taken their shirts off and she asked me why. I told her that they were probably hot and explained that sometimes guys take their shirts off outside but that girls shouldn't and figured that would be the end of the conversation. But a little while later she saw the guys outside again and said, "Them boys took off their shirts. They're HOT!"

The other day Kinsey told me that when she gets older, she will be angry. I later asked her what she thought the word angry means. She said, "It means I be soooo tall!" I don't know how that one got so mixed up...

Kinsey and I took a walk to take some things to the recycling bins. She usually brings her stroller and a doll or two but didn't ask to this time. When we were halfway to the recycling bins, she stopped in her tracks and said, "Oh my! We forgot mine stroller!"

Kinsey poked herself in the eye today and kept crying about it. Apparently I didn't comfort her good enough because she kept saying "See Cole!" (our friend Nicole). I kept telling her that we couldn't go see Nicole right now and she finally said, "Get in car and see Cole!"

We were walking around the neighborhood this evening and Kinsey spotted a dog and wanted to say hi. The dog lay down and Kinsey said "Upside woof-woof down!" (upside down dog)

I was telling Jason how well Kinsey was doing learning her colors. I mentioned that she knows the color white. Jason said, "She knows white?" Kinsey, very confidently, broke into the conversation and said "I know white." We just looked at each other. It was her first "real" sentence that she thought up all on her own. She's growing up too fast.

Kinsey and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood when she spotted a dog, or a "woof woof" as she calls it. We went over to say hi and the dog touched her hand with his nose. Kinsey looked at her hand then said "eww" and wiped her hand on her shorts.
