Yarn Dolls

Kinsey and I have been reading the American Girl books lately, and she really loves Kirsten. I can't believe she loves the books already, they are a bit old for her, and we have been having some interesting conversations about slavery, steamboats, and what it would be like to live without electricity. My mom sent all of my old books to Kinsey, along with a Kirsten craft book. Kinsey wanted to make the yarn dolls and we had fun making some for her friends for Christmas. I love introducing Kinsey to these books but I'm not looking forward to her asking for the $100+ dolls! Thank goodness for Grandmas! :)

One of our chores on our trip to Hawaii was to clean out a chest and get rid of some of my old books and papers from kindergarten through BYU. BUT. In the chest we found my Felicity doll that my mom thought she had given away years ago. SCORE! We are super thrilled. Gigi carries her around by her hair, so we'll be waiting a bit before letting them meet for real, but it was sooo exciting... Maybe her and Kinsey can bond over American Girls someday.
