First Day of Preschool

I just dropped Kinsey off at preschool for her first day. How are we at this point already???

It went really well. In the car I asked her if she was excited. She said, "Yep, I sure am!" From then on she proceeded to tell me that she was "so suhcited (excited)" and "This is going to be the greatest preschool ever!" and "I can't wait!" When we got there, she said, "I'll go by myself Mom. I can open the door." I convinced her to let me go in with her, and she confidently walked inside, took off her shoes, and made herself right at home. She afforded me with one half-hearted wave when I told her I was going to go.

Sigh. I'm glad she is so confident and excited, but don't you think she should be a little sad to say goodbye?

We brought in cupcakes to celebrate her birthday tomorrow...

Kinsey noticed some guys moving furniture outside of our apartment. Some had taken their shirts off and she asked me why. I told her that they were probably hot and explained that sometimes guys take their shirts off outside but that girls shouldn't and figured that would be the end of the conversation. But a little while later she saw the guys outside again and said, "Them boys took off their shirts. They're HOT!"

Kinsey and I took a walk to take some things to the recycling bins. She usually brings her stroller and a doll or two but didn't ask to this time. When we were halfway to the recycling bins, she stopped in her tracks and said, "Oh my! We forgot mine stroller!"

I was telling Jason how well Kinsey was doing learning her colors. I mentioned that she knows the color white. Jason said, "She knows white?" Kinsey, very confidently, broke into the conversation and said "I know white." We just looked at each other. It was her first "real" sentence that she thought up all on her own. She's growing up too fast.

Kinsey and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood when she spotted a dog, or a "woof woof" as she calls it. We went over to say hi and the dog touched her hand with his nose. Kinsey looked at her hand then said "eww" and wiped her hand on her shorts.
