Poor Second Children

I let Kinsey put Kaitlyn in her doll stroller before she gets too big. Kinsey loved it. Kaitlyn not so much.

The other day I was in my bedroom and Kaitlyn was awake in the living room in the bouncy seat. Kinsey came in and said, "Kaitlyn is hiding. She likes it." I asked her what she meant and she told me that she had covered her with blankets. I asked if her face was covered. Kinsey said, "Yes, she is hiding!"

Kinsey noticed some guys moving furniture outside of our apartment. Some had taken their shirts off and she asked me why. I told her that they were probably hot and explained that sometimes guys take their shirts off outside but that girls shouldn't and figured that would be the end of the conversation. But a little while later she saw the guys outside again and said, "Them boys took off their shirts. They're HOT!"

I was telling Jason how well Kinsey was doing learning her colors. I mentioned that she knows the color white. Jason said, "She knows white?" Kinsey, very confidently, broke into the conversation and said "I know white." We just looked at each other. It was her first "real" sentence that she thought up all on her own. She's growing up too fast.

Kinsey and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood when she spotted a dog, or a "woof woof" as she calls it. We went over to say hi and the dog touched her hand with his nose. Kinsey looked at her hand then said "eww" and wiped her hand on her shorts.

The other day Kinsey and I were looking at a picture of President Monson. I asked her if she knew who it was. She got really excited, pointed to the picture and yelled, "Bampa!" (Grandpa)
