2 Months

Kaitlyn is 2 months old today. She weighs 7 lbs 2.5 ounces and is almost 20 inches long. She is below the 3rd percentile for both.

• She started to smile right before 6 weeks. She doesn't smile a lot yet, but she can do it and she is starting to make little laughing sounds when she smiles.
  
• She still sleeps a lot, more than most 2 month old babies I think. She usually has two awake periods each day.
• She is fussy some nights and fine others. Lately she has been sleeping for 4 hours straight at night, going about 5 hours between feedings. I'm not allowed to let her go any longer because she is still so small.
• She still loves her binky. She holds it in with her fist sometimes. She has done this since she was about a week old.
• She is a strong little girl! The other day she rolled over from her tummy to her back. I'm not sure if it was a fluke or not. It was funny watching a little 6.5 lb baby roll over.
• She loves to watch Kinsey and will turn to wherever she is.
• Her eyes are still very blue and she has one dimple on her right side. She isn't really losing any hair but it isn't growing as fast as Kinsey's did.
  
• She stares so intently at a little mobile over her changing table. She can be mad as ever and we lie her down there and she quits crying and stares at the little bears. She also likes to look at lights and other hanging toys.
• She loves to cuddle and sleeps best when we are holding her.
• She calms down very easily which has been such a blessing. She will scream and scream while her blood is drawn or she is getting an IV, but as soon as they are done and I pick her up she quits crying right away (as long as I stick a binky in her mouth).

We are thrilled with how well she is doing. She still seems to hear perfectly and is very alert. So far she is right on track for development. It is hard to tell how she will do long term when she is only two months old, but for now she is just perfect!
