Kaitlyn also did amazing, which I absolutely didn't expect. When Kinsey was younger, until she was 3 I think, she would sob while we were at the dentist. She would just give up, go limp, and cry. BUT she kept her mouth open and didn't fight the dentist so they were happy with the end result. Kaitlyn has always fought against them. She grits her teeth together, shakes her head no, and pushes their hands away. Different little girls... Before the hygienist got started with Kaitlyn, I said, "She has sensory issues and a really sensitive gag reflex, but go for it. Just do whatever you need." She gave me a look like, "um...seriously?" and then proceeded with great caution. I probably overdid it with the warning... But Kaitlyn surprised us all by being totally calm and opening her mouth when they asked her too. She also tried to push all the buttons, climbed in and out of the chair a hundred times, tried to pull off everyone's gloves, and requested that she do the exam herself. BUT she didn't grit her teeth, didn't shake her head, and didn't push anybody's hands away. For her age, she was a model patient. The dentist said, "2 year olds just don't do this well." Her teeth are completely healthy, albeit a little jumbled, which is a relief considering CMV.

Kaitlyn also managed to worm her way into the dentist's lap to help out with Kinsey's exam. Of course.

Both girls got about 20 stickers and a bag full of prizes and toothbrushes. As we were leaving Kinsey whispered to me, "That was sort of fun."
