Kinsey Anne

My little Kinsey just keeps growing up. Growing up with a funny little attitude at times. Here are a few of her latest sayings...

"Sometimes grown ups can be a problem."

"Mom, you're giving me a stomach ache." (this came after I asked her, about 5 times, to get ready for preschool)

The other day I told her that I was disappointed with the way she had acted and that I wanted her to do better. She broke out into song and started singing,"You can't always get what you waa-aa-aant."

One day Kinsey was mixing cracker crumbs into her water and offered me a sip. I declined, telling her it didn't look very good to me and that I wouldn't like it. She replied, "Just try it mom. You don't know that you wont like it until you try it. Really mom, you have to try it. Really, just try it!"
Using my words against me---blast!

With these "fun" moments also come some really spectacular ones. Kinsey is learning to read and it is such a cool thing to witness as a parent. I've heard that it is like watching your child learn to walk, and it really is. They start out slowly, stumbling, and then just take off and get better and better. Most of Kinsey's ability to read is through self-learning. We've worked on it some, and she's done some at preschool, but mostly, she just figured out the concept of how words go together and is doing most of it on her own. She blows me away. I can't wait to see the HUGE things this little girl does with her life!

Here she is reading the thrilling story, "Bear Hugs." And please take note of Miss Kaitlyn, doing what she does best--making trouble (and a mess). The video is a few minutes long, but it's worth at least skipping around to watch Kaitlyn's antics (don't miss the end) and witness Kinsey's awesomeness.
