BUT she is doing all kind of things. Such as...
- Rolling over from tummy to back. Yay! She is also rolling from her back to her side, just not quite all the way to her tummy.
- She can sit for a little while, sort of. We've been working on this a physical therapy. I think in another couple of months she'll be a pro.
- She takes her binky to go to sleep but she prefers her fingers when she is awake. Sometimes her thumb, but usually she tries to stick as many fingers in her mouth as she can.
- She has the cutest giggle. She's just started squealing as well.
- She definitely knows who we (meaning me, Jason, and Kinsey) are but will usually smile at just about anyone.
- She's getting more aware of the outside world and it is getting harder and harder to get her to sleep when we are out.
- She sometimes has problems "localizing" sound (the biggest hurdle with uni-lateral loss) but for the most part seems to do just fine. She is actually very sensitive to sound and wakes easily when it is noisy.
- She still gets 3 shots each week and blood draws bi-weekly which she hates. She screams and screams while it is being done but as soon as I pick her up she settles right down. She's a tough little girl.
She can reach her toes! Seems like a little thing right? It is actually a really important milestone. In order to do it, a baby's stomach muscles have to be strong enough to hold their legs up, their leg muscles have to be loose enough to get their feet up that high, and their hands have to be ready to reach for and grab things. Cognitivley, babies have to notice their feet and be curious enough to reach for them. Babies should be doing this by the time they are close to 6 months so I was thrilled when Kaitlyn finally figured it out the night before she turned 6 months old.
She's a last minute kind of girl.

She sounds right on track! Jackson is doing the same stuff. He can't sit up yet though, he just kind of slowly falls to the side, maybe because he is so ROUND ;) I am so happy to hear that she is doing so well. What a cutie.
What a little rock star she is! Try to ignore all the "wait and see" you get and focus on how phenomenal she is doing - honestly, she is even doing better than Danny at 6 months!

Kaitlyn is so cute Kim, I need to see her again. Let's set up our kids on a hot baby date. Since one of the boys will already be third wheel you and I won't have to worry about being the odd men out.
She looks very cute and adorable! Good job, mummy!!
