I took Kaitlyn to the ophthalmologist yesterday (her 5th time-crazy huh) and he said that her eyes look great. CMV can cause everything from simple vision problems to complete blindness. The doctor dilated her eyes and checked her retina's and told me that he found "no hint" of any sort of infection. Yay! Finally some good news. He did say that he noticed her eyes look out a bit at times. I am not really sure how to describe it, sort of the opposite of cross-eyed. I hadn't noticed it before (and still can't), he said it is very slight and very, very common in babies her age. Most of the time it resolves itself, if not, it sounds like it is pretty easy to fix. Since she does have CMV, he wants to check it again in 3 months although it is probably not due to the CMV. So, overall, very good news!
Kinsey went to the dentist on Monday. It was pretty non-dramatic for Kinsey. She was fine with the hygienist looking at her teeth but the dentist scared her a bit. She cried for awhile and then calmed down and was jabbering away by the time he was done. She's funny like that. It was so nice to be able to go to a standard appointment, not have anything to fill out in the medical history section, and leave with no follow-up appointments. Her teeth look great and she has no cavities.
Kaitlyn's gotten 2 more injections of the nuepogen. I'm pretty sure that I will go crazy before she's done with the treatment. The injection itself is not bad, Kaitlyn cries but we are used to that by now. The part that is hard is getting to the hospital and waiting to get the shot. The whole process takes about 2-2.5 hours for a shot that takes about 10 seconds. I think I am going to ask if they will let me do the shots myself at home. It's not something I really want to do, but if it will save me 6+ hours each week for 3 months it just might be worth it.
I think this is probably a very boring post unless you are a grandma or someone who just really loves my kids, so here is an unboring picture of Kinsey. She is such a nut.
I'm not really sure why I bought her the hat and mittens she has on. I think I forgot that we don't live in Utah anymore. She definitely doesn't need them here, but she wears them all the time. We had people from the state come the other day to do an evaluation on Kaitlyn (that's another post) and Kinsey came out of her room wearing them. Funny girl.

Not a boring post to this grandma. I was waiting to hear about the opthamoligy appointment.
Hat and gloves: think of them as quality entertainment.
I'm a fan of the hat and gloves! I can't get Jonah to leave his on, so it's good to see that Kinsey likes them, snow or no snow.
yay! for no eye problems! That is wonderful to hear!
