The number of times Kaitlyn was stuck with a needle today. One of those times was by me. I met with some of Kaitlyn's nurses today and we discussed the possibility of me giving Kaitlyn her shots at home. We go in 3x a week and still have about 2 more months to go. The whole process takes me
at least 2 hours each time. If I did it at home it would take about 30 seconds. They wanted me to practice today, while they were there. I thought I would have a hard time doing it, but it wasn't bad. I figure if she is going to get the shot anyways (and she is) it would be better for her to get it at home where she is comfortable. We will still have to go get labs done once a week, but it will be so much easier. I am meeting with the doctor on Wednesday to get everything finalized and make sure that this will really work out. I'm surprisingly excited about this.
Kailyn's other 5 pokes came trying to get some blood to test. Her veins have been very stubborn lately. Kinsey kept saying, "She already got a shot!"

You can see some of Kaitlyn's band-aids. She was so sweet after we got home from the hospital, cooing and smiling. I tried to get a picture of her smiling but there is a light of our camera that comes on before it takes a picture. The light always distracts Kaitlyn and she stops smiling and just stares at it. She's such a trooper!

Poor girl! She really is a trooper, and so are you for learning to give her the shots yourself!
Wow, Kim. I am impressed that you can do the shots!
Kaitlyn's legs look sooo chubby!
i'm so glad they're letting you take care of it. there's nothing like waiting two hours for something that takes thirty seconds. what are you going to do with all your extra time? I suggest you come on over here. =)
I'm so glad they are going to let you do the shot! Poor girl with the 6 shots :(
