Trip to New Mexico-Day 4

We decided to spend the day in Durango, CO. I have lots of fun memories of the times I went there as a kid, and I want my girls to have fun memories Durango too. We got ready, packed a lunch, and headed out. As we started climbing in elevation, Kinsey started saying she didn't feel good. By the time we got to Durango, she was saying that she needed to throw up and had NO energy to do anything. Kaitlyn played on the playground while Kinsey sat pitifully on a bench. We ate lunch and tried to decide if we should go home, or just deal with a sick Kinsey. But then out of nowhere, Kinsey said she was feeling better, and within 10 minutes she was fine. Who knows if it was the altitude or something else, but we ended up having a fun day.

There is a new children's museum in Durango, and my mom wanted to take the girls. They LOVED it. It was small, but full of things to do, touch, climb on, etc. We stayed for quite a few hours, and they would have stayed for more.

We saw this bike/carriage thing and thought it looked like fun so we decided to rent it out for half an hour. Holy cow, this thing was hard pedal. Half an hour was long enough! The girls enjoyed their front seat view (with no pedaling).

There is a bridge in Durango that my brothers and I called the "wobbly bridge." Or maybe that is the actual name of the bridge. I have no clue. The thing wobbles when you walk across it and I always thought it was fun. The girls liked it too, and liked watching the people go down the river in kayaks and rafts.

We went to main street for dinner and souvenirs and watched the train come it. The girls thought it was so cool! I want to take them on the train sometime. They would love it!

Outside Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I love this place and go every time I am in Durango. Never mind the fact that there is one just down the road in Durham (and I think maybe even one in Raleigh). I don't go to those ones (I personally don't think the stores should be allowed outside of the Rocky Mountains). I love the caramel apples! We are going to try and recreate them this fall.
