Kinsey's Half Birthday

Miss Kinsey is officially closer to age 6 than to 5. We celebrated her half birthday on Saturday with breakfast burritos (one of her favorites) for dinner and Funfetti cake mix pancakes for dessert (totally yummy). She also got a new lap desk and we took the girls to a movie earlier in the day.

Kinsey is such an awesome kid. She is crazy smart, extremely kind, amazingly funny, and just plain fun. She can get quite sassy at times but tries very hard to 'choose the right' (though she says she cannot chose the right without her CTR ring on--makes for a good excuse (in her mind) when it isn't on and she gets in trouble). We sure love her!

Metta said...: She sure IS special! A few days ago Nicole and I were talking about how way back before we had kiddos we only had Kinsey to watch and observe, and we thought kids were all like her. Now we have our own, and frankly, it's a little disappointing ;-) Just kidding, I love Gigi, but I'll be mighty happy if she comes out anything like Kins. Nice work, powerhouse parents! Kinsey noticed some guys moving furniture outside of our apartment. Some had taken their shirts off and she asked me why. I told her that they were probably hot and explained that sometimes guys take their shirts off outside but that girls shouldn't and figured that would be the end of the conversation. But a little while later she saw the guys outside again and said, "Them boys took off their shirts. They're HOT!"

I was telling Jason how well Kinsey was doing learning her colors. I mentioned that she knows the color white. Jason said, "She knows white?" Kinsey, very confidently, broke into the conversation and said "I know white." We just looked at each other. It was her first "real" sentence that she thought up all on her own. She's growing up too fast.
