Celebrate what's Great!

We've been wanting to go to the State Fair ever since we moved to North Carolina. The stars finally aligned this year and we made the 8 mile trip to the fairgrounds on the last Saturday of the fair. It. was. packed. I've never seen so many people, in one place, in my life. It was fun, just way too busy. We missed half of the animals and stuff for the kids because it took so much time to get from one place to another. But still, it was fun. I'd do it again...just on a weekday.

The people, and a view of the demolition derby Jason wanted to go see. Poor Jason is stuck with 3 girls who don't want to see cars get destroyed.

Deep fried oreos. Good, but I prefer them how they usually are. Kinsey didn't like them at all. She didn't like cotton candy either (crazy girl). She DID enjoy the popcorn and lemonade.

By the end of the day, my brain was so overstimulated that I was running into people left and right with the stroller. I lost my ability to apologize and just kept pushing on through. I insisted to Jason that I be the one to push (I don't know why) and he ran interference for me. Too. many. people! But, again, fun.

Kinsey noticed some guys moving furniture outside of our apartment. Some had taken their shirts off and she asked me why. I told her that they were probably hot and explained that sometimes guys take their shirts off outside but that girls shouldn't and figured that would be the end of the conversation. But a little while later she saw the guys outside again and said, "Them boys took off their shirts. They're HOT!"

Kinsey and I took a walk to take some things to the recycling bins. She usually brings her stroller and a doll or two but didn't ask to this time. When we were halfway to the recycling bins, she stopped in her tracks and said, "Oh my! We forgot mine stroller!"

Kinsey poked herself in the eye today and kept crying about it. Apparently I didn't comfort her good enough because she kept saying "See Cole!" (our friend Nicole). I kept telling her that we couldn't go see Nicole right now and she finally said, "Get in car and see Cole!"

I was telling Jason how well Kinsey was doing learning her colors. I mentioned that she knows the color white. Jason said, "She knows white?" Kinsey, very confidently, broke into the conversation and said "I know white." We just looked at each other. It was her first "real" sentence that she thought up all on her own. She's growing up too fast.

Kinsey and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood when she spotted a dog, or a "woof woof" as she calls it. We went over to say hi and the dog touched her hand with his nose. Kinsey looked at her hand then said "eww" and wiped her hand on her shorts.
