It seems like Kaitlyn was just turning 6 months old and now here we are at 7 months. I can't believe how fast my little baby is growing! She's still small though, most people that don't know her think she is about 4 months old and she can still fit into a few newborn clothes (!) which I can't believe.

She's doing all kinds of new things...

She is getting more sounds. She is a bit behind in "language," close to the 5 month level for expressive language, but right on track for receptive. Lately we've been hearing all sorts of wonderful 'B,' 'G,' 'H,' and 'W' sounds in addition to the vowel sounds she's been making for a long time. I love it!
She loves being outside and really enjoys the feeling of wind on her face. She starts shaking and laughing with happiness when we take her out. Its so fun to watch her and if this darn weather would straighten up we'd take her out a lot more.
She often wakes up in the middle of the night and starts laughing. Who knows what is so funny, but she'll usually put herself back to sleep in a few minutes. Silly girl.
The best way to get her to laugh or to imitate sounds is to have Kinsey help her. She is such good motivation!
She LOVES Jason. Kinsey was always (and still is) a mommy's girl but Kaitlyn is all about her daddy. Maybe it's because he doesn't give her shots...

Anyone know a good brand of baby socks that don't fall off right after you put them on?!

By the way, Paul wears the socks that Clara wore last summer when she was almost 2 years old. The bigger the socks the better they seem to stay on for my kids.; March 2, 2010 at 8:24 PM

Kinsey noticed some guys moving furniture outside of our apartment. Some had taken their shirts off and she asked me why. I told her that they were probably hot and explained that sometimes guys take their shirts off outside but that girls shouldn't and figured that would be the end of the conversation. But a little while later she saw the guys outside again and said, "Them boys took off their shirts. They're HOT!"

I was telling Jason how well Kinsey was doing learning her colors. I mentioned that she knows the color white. Jason said, "She knows white?" Kinsey, very confidently, broke into the conversation and said "I know white." We just looked at each other. It was her first "real" sentence that she thought up all on her own. She's growing up too fast.

Kinsey and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood when she spotted a dog, or a "woof woof" as she calls it. We went over to say hi and the dog touched her hand with his nose. Kinsey looked at her hand then said "eww" and wiped her hand on her shorts.
