Dance Recital

The girls had a dance recital in May. They had such a good day and they both loved dancing on the stage. Kinsey knew her dance backwards and forwards so I wasn't worried about her. Kaitlyn on the other hand...she's a bit of a free spirit and I was worried that she would kind of do her own thing once she had a willing audience. But she did SO GOOD. I was so proud of her! She really does struggle to hear in situations that have a lot of background noise (like a dance studio) so it took her a little longer to learn her dance but she knew every step.

With her teacher, Miss Michelle. She did such a good job with Kinsey's class full of silly, giggly girls!

Kaitlyn danced to "Maybe" and "It's a Hard Knock Life" from Annie.

I loved their dance and Kaitlyn's spunk!

Miss Charlene. She was so, so good with Kaitlyn! She's so much fun.

We had such a fun year of dancing! Both girls are signed up for 2 classes each this coming year. They are counting down the days until they start!

Kinsey noticed some guys moving furniture outside of our apartment. Some had taken their shirts off and she asked me why. I told her that they were probably hot and explained that sometimes guys take their shirts off outside but that girls shouldn't and figured that would be the end of the conversation. But a little while later she saw the guys outside again and said, "Them boys took off their shirts. They're HOT!"

I was telling Jason how well Kinsey was doing learning her colors. I mentioned that she knows the color white. Jason said, "She knows white?" Kinsey, very confidently, broke into the conversation and said "I know white." We just looked at each other. It was her first "real" sentence that she thought up all on her own. She's growing up too fast.

Kinsey and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood when she spotted a dog, or a "woof woof" as she calls it. We went over to say hi and the dog touched her hand with his nose. Kinsey looked at her hand then said "eww" and wiped her hand on her shorts.

The other day Kinsey and I were looking at a picture of President Monson. I asked her if she knew who it was. She got really excited, pointed to the picture and yelled, "Bampa!" (Grandpa)
