Hot Air Balloons

Number 32 on our bucket list was to see hot air balloons. I am so tickled that we actually made it happen! It was a bit of a whirlwind trip, 2.5 hour trip to Statesville, NC. a few hours with the balloons, and then back home so that Jason could get to work by 11pm that night. I am SO glad we did it though!

They had a band and Kaitlyn jumped right into the dancing fun. I really love the lady with gray hair and the maroon shirt in the background. She was totally into it!

We didn't just see the balloons, we went in one too. Just a tethered ride but super cool.

It was pretty intense!

View from the top. I would love to go again, on a actual ride, but without my kids. I spent most of the time holding onto Kaitlyn's hood (like that would really help) because I was so afraid she would "pull a Kaitlyn" and jump over the side.

I've seen hot air balloons before, but never this close. We are definitely hoping to make this a yearly trip!

Kinsey noticed some guys moving furniture outside of our apartment. Some had taken their shirts off and she asked me why. I told her that they were probably hot and explained that sometimes guys take their shirts off outside but that girls shouldn't and figured that would be the end of the conversation. But a little while later she saw the guys outside again and said, "Them boys took off their shirts. They're HOT!"

I was telling Jason how well Kinsey was doing learning her colors. I mentioned that she knows the color white. Jason said, "She knows white?" Kinsey, very confidently, broke into the conversation and said "I know white." We just looked at each other. It was her first "real" sentence that she thought up all on her own. She's growing up too fast.
