2!

It's a little late, but here is what Kaitlyn is up to at age two...

Sleeps through the night and has one nap in the afternoon
Can't sleep without her binky, we generally don't give it to her outside her crib though
LOVES shoes. As long as they are simple, she can put them on by herself. She also loves to try on other people's shoes (especially Kinsey's)
Really loves dogs, cats, and ducks-but dogs are definitely her favorite
Still very, very social. She'll let anyone hold her (whether she knows them our not).
Can open doors
Is a total monster when she gets sick
Imitates EVERYTHING that Kinsey does
Is eating a bit better, but not as well as we'd like. We just started working with an occupational therapist, focusing on her sensory issues that affect her eating.
Talks all day long. She has about 70 words that she can say/sign.
Recently learned to run and jump. She is almost caught up gross motor wise. She still has strength and balance issues, but she is doing great!
Can sign at least part of the following songs: ABC's, I am a Child of God, clean-up song, Barney I Love You song, Old McDonald had a Farm, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Has a funny sense of humor. She cracks us up! My favorite is when she pretends to sleep.
Loves baby dolls. And any toy that belongs to Kinsey.
Say's "Okay?" anytime someone gets hurt
Goes potty in the potty about once a day. Usually it's just good timing, but she's starting to catch on.
Says, "Hi!' and smiles sweetly whenever she gets in trouble. Stinker.
Scared of thunder and the movie Tangled
Is "swimming" independently with just floaties

In conclusion, Kaitlyn is a smart, happy, social, mischievous, kind, loving, funny little girl. We love her and wouldn't change one thing about her!

Kinsey noticed some guys moving furniture outside of our apartment. Some had taken their shirts off and she asked me why. I told her that they were probably hot and explained that sometimes guys take their shirts off outside but that girls shouldn't and figured that would be the end of the conversation. But a little while later she saw the guys outside again and said, "Them boys took off their shirts. They're HOT!"

The other day Kinsey told me that when she gets older, she will be angry. I later asked her what she thought the word angry means. She said, "It means I be soooo tall!" I don't know how that one got so mixed up...

Kinsey and I took a walk to take some things to the recycling bins. She usually brings her stroller and a doll or two but didn't ask to this time. When we were halfway to the recycling bins, she stopped in her tracks and said, "Oh my! We forgot mine stroller!"

-I was trying to explain that we didn't need the lights on because it was sunny outside. Kinsey finally kind of caught on and said, "We don't need the lights, the sun is on!"

I was getting ready in the bathroom, a room with no windows, and Kinsey told me, "Mommy, we don't need lights, the sun is on!"

Me: Kinsey, you don't need the light on, the sun is on.
Kinsey: No, the moon is on.
(She's two, so she argues everything of course)

Kinsey poked herself in the eye today and kept crying about it. Apparently I didn't comfort her good enough because she kept saying "See Cole!" (our friend Nicole). I kept telling her that we couldn't go see Nicole right now and she finally said, "Get in car and see Cole!"

We were walking around the neighborhood this evening and Kinsey spotted a dog and wanted to say hi. The dog lay down and Kinsey said "Upside woof-woof down!" (upside down dog)

I was telling Jason how well Kinsey was doing learning her colors. I mentioned that she knows the color white. Jason said, "She knows white?" Kinsey, very confidently, broke into the conversation and said "I know white." We just looked at each other. It was her first "real" sentence that she thought up all on her own. She's growing up too fast.

Kinsey and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood when she spotted a dog, or a "woof woof" as she calls it. We went over to say hi and the dog touched her hand with his nose. Kinsey looked at her hand then said "eww" and wiped her hand on her shorts.
