New Blog

Just a post to let everyone know that we have a new blog. We are going to use it to do daily (or as often as possible) updates on Kaitlyn. I will continue to do major updates on this blog. Kaitlyn's blog is private so let me know if you would like an invite (email kimnhill@hotmail.com or leave a comment on this post with your email address). You have to have a google account which is very simple to set up.

As for Kaitlyn, she is still in the NICU but doing well. Once a few more things stabilize we should be able to bring her home. After she is home, she will have very frequent check-ups to make sure everything is still going ok. The virus that Kaitlyn has carries a high risk for vision loss, hearing loss and can affect brain development. Kaitlyn has had her eyes and ears checked as well as an ultrasound of her brain and for right now, everything looks normal. However, the virus can cause problems down the road so she will have to be monitored very carefully for at least the first few years of her life.

She is eating well and is such a good baby. She has had sooo many IV's and injections for her 6 short days of life. Her hands and feet are all bruised. Still, she rarely cries and is so sweet. We try to spend as much time as possible with her. It is hard to leave her at the hospital each night.

Kinsey can't quite figure out what happened to baby sister. She still hasn't gotten to see her but she is excited that she is here. I can't wait until she comes home and we can all be together.

Please send us your email addresses! We want everyone to be updated but would rather keep all of Kaitlyn's test results to family and friends, which is the reason for the private blog. Our family blog will continue to be public. Thank you again for all of your support!
