My Girls are Funny

Kinsey gets herself up each school morning with the help of an alarm clock. She is 6 so this is pretty awesome. We always make sure it is on the radio setting because no one wants to have a 7am heart attack due to the crazy beeping. The other night it got switched somehow and the alarm clock beeped and scared both girls half to death.

They came RUNNING into my room. Kinsey was breathing hard and Kaitlyn was talking a mile a minute. I had heard the alarm so I knew what was happening. All I could understand from Kaitlyn was fast, unintelligible speech punctuated by the occasional, "Then it said, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP!" and then some more unintelligible speech and "I said AHHHHH!" "It was so loud!"

Kinsey just sat there breathing hard, waiting until Kaitlyn had talked herself out and then said, "Mom. Could you PLEASE change my alarm back to music tomorrow? Because it totally startled me."

Kinsey noticed some guys moving furniture outside of our apartment. Some had taken their shirts off and she asked me why. I told her that they were probably hot and explained that sometimes guys take their shirts off outside but that girls shouldn't and figured that would be the end of the conversation. But a little while later she saw the guys outside again and said, "Them boys took off their shirts. They're HOT!"

Kinsey and I took a walk to take some things to the recycling bins. She usually brings her stroller and a doll or two but didn't ask to this time. When we were halfway to the recycling bins, she stopped in her tracks and said, "Oh my! We forgot mine stroller!"

I was telling Jason how well Kinsey was doing learning her colors. I mentioned that she knows the color white. Jason said, "She knows white?" Kinsey, very confidently, broke into the conversation and said "I know white." We just looked at each other. It was her first "real" sentence that she thought up all on her own. She's growing up too fast.

Kinsey and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood when she spotted a dog, or a "woof woof" as she calls it. We went over to say hi and the dog touched her hand with his nose. Kinsey looked at her hand then said "eww" and wiped her hand on her shorts.
