Kinsey's Day

Poor Kinsey had a tough day today. It started out with me having to wake her up so we could get to gymnastics on time. It never fails---they days we have no where to be she is up by 7:30. The days that she has to get up for school, church or preschool, I am dragging her out of bed. Every. Darn. Time. She did NOT want to get up, so I left her for a bit and told her she could wait for a few minutes. She didn't ever come out of the room, so I went to check on her. I found her about to wash her hands. She started crying because she wanted to get all ready and surprise me. So I left so she could get ready and surprise me. But again, she never came out. I went back in the room and found her back in bed. Sniffling. I MADE her get up at that point and change her clothes. I got her some breakfast and did her hair while she ate. Then she spilled milk on her pants. And couldn't find the shoes she wanted. And it was raining her and umbrella had broken the night before.

Gymnastics was fine. The rest of the morning was fine. But she wanted to go out and ride her bike this afternoon. I told her she couldn't because it was raining. She tearfully said, "I'll never get to ride my bike again!" Ahhh, life with girls. The rain let up so we decided to go out. We hadn't gone very fair when I noticed her back tire was flat. I tentatively told her what was going on and that we had to go back in. We decided that she would ride her trike instead. We headed out again, got to the same spot as before, and it started to rain. Again. So we went back in. Again. With the promise that we could go out if the rain stopped. Which it did. So we headed back out. As soon as we opened the door, it started to rain. Sigh. Kinsey ended up like this on the chair:

It's hard to be five.

For days like that, she needs a Gramma close by.
