Graduation

Last Saturday was Jason's hooding ceremony for his masters degree. Jason's parents, my parents, and my brother were all in town for the big day. It was a nice ceremony and even nicer to know that this long year is finally done.

The Dean of the School of Social Work-this is about the only decent picture I have from the actual ceremony. Jason is somewhere in the bottom of the picture wearing a black hat :)

After the ceremony we had a party with friends and family. Our friend Metta also graduated with her Masters in Social Work and our friend Chris flew in from California with his cute family to celebrate his Ph.D. is Physics. We had such a good time hanging out with friends and getting to know everyone's families.

The watermelon was really good :)

My mom made this cake, isn't she good? My poor kids will only have fancy cakes when she comes for their birthdays.

Kinsey and her friend Korven, the other day she told me he is her "favorite friend"

Kinsey, Korven, and Ren. We haven't seen Ren for about 5 months. He is so so cute and sweet! He and Kinsey are the same weight :)

Kinsey noticed some guys moving furniture outside of our apartment. Some had taken their shirts off and she asked me why. I told her that they were probably hot and explained that sometimes guys take their shirts off outside but that girls shouldn't and figured that would be the end of the conversation. But a little while later she saw the guys outside again and said, "Them boys took off their shirts. They're HOT!"

Kinsey and I took a walk to take some things to the recycling bins. She usually brings her stroller and a doll or two but didn't ask to this time. When we were halfway to the recycling bins, she stopped in her tracks and said, "Oh my! We forgot mine stroller!"

I was telling Jason how well Kinsey was doing learning her colors. I mentioned that she knows the color white. Jason said, "She knows white?" Kinsey, very confidently, broke into the conversation and said "I know white." We just looked at each other. It was her first "real" sentence that she thought up all on her own. She's growing up too fast.

Kinsey and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood when she spotted a dog, or a "woof woof" as she calls it. We went over to say hi and the dog touched her hand with his nose. Kinsey looked at her hand then said "eww" and wiped her hand on her shorts.
